Sailing In Greece

Greece consists of the Greek mainland, and the 6000 islands and islets spread in the Aegean and Ionian Sea. Only 227 of all Greek islands are populated but all of them and a coastline of 16.000km are inviting the sea lovers to explore, the beauties of the Greek seas. Sailing is a sport irrevocably connected with the Greek people throughout the country’s long history and centuries of nautical tradition. Odyssey, the top Greek myth, was the first sea trip ever known.

Today, sailing is one of the most popular sports in Greece and thousands of Greeks put into practice it systematically (in competitions or as a simple sport) using all types of sailing boats.
