Skiing on Greek mountains

Greece’s Mainland consists of more than 300 mountains, 40 of them are reaching elevations of over 2,000 m. Mountain Skiing has witnessed a spectacular rise in popularity among Greeks and 19 ski resorts operate on the mountains of the mainland.

Those ski resorts meet the modern standards of winter tourism and are admired by both Greeks and foreign visitors of the Greek mountains. They offer a huge variety of scenery, skiing pistes and accommodation establishment. You may find from easy skiing children’s and beginner’s levelled pistes, up to competition levelled black skiing pistes.

Many ski resorts offer programs for beginners and for intermediate-level skiers. You may find also stores selling winter sports gear in nearby urban areas. Alternatively, a number of these ski resorts offer you the possibility to rent part or all of the equipment required, so before setting out for skiing, contact the resort and seek information
